Princess Catherine made a secret visit to Dose of Nature in London last month, a mental health charity that focuses on the combination of psychology, connection to nature, and one-on-one work.
Per its website, Dose of Nature is “a mental health charity providing clinically-led Nature Prescriptions, helping people improve their mental health and wellbeing through the therapeutic power of nature, human connection and community.”

The royal mother of three looked very cosy in what appeared to be a Barbour jacket and a navy turtleneck jumper as she chatted under a gazebo during her woodland visit on 21 October. She paired the casual look with light-wash denim jeans and her sapphire engagement ring from Prince William.
She kept her brunette locks in their natural style, with her curls tumbling down over her shoulders.

Princess Catherine’s secret visit revealed
During her outing, the Princess of Wales met with a former Dose of Nature participant named Tom – who now works as a Nature Guide with the organisation – to discuss his thoughts on using nature to improve health outcomes.
Catherine opened up to Tom about how connecting with nature improved her mental health and allowed her to heal. “Our journey has been very, very different, but it’s so wonderful to hear your nature connection and how it’s been so healing for you, and I felt the same,” she said.

“The fact that you’re able to provide that to so many other people in this community; that sense of purpose, and meaning, and belonging, through that experience, I think is something that has got the longevity and the sustainability.”
“Feeling like, almost without knowing what’s to come, without having the control in your life of knowing what the future might hold, the fact that you feel that you can cope with things, because you feel that interconnection, I think that makes it holistic in a very true essence,” the 44-year-old concluded.

Princess Catherine’s connection to nature
Princess Catherine is incredibly passionate about nature and improving mental health outcomes through a connection with the environment.
She has spoken on the topic several times, including in a 2026 social media post that read: “Nature is such an extraordinary environment for us all and, in this tech-driven, digital age, spending quality time outdoors has never been more important.” She added that research had proven “just how important nature is for our psychological and physiological wellbeing”.
Mental health and the environment
The mother of three previously described nature as her “sanctuary”, particularly when she was receiving treatment for cancer in 2024. “The natural world’s capacity to inspire us, to nurture us and help us heal and grow is boundless and has been understood for generations,” she said in a video released during Mental Health Awareness Week in 2025.
“It is through nature that we can fully understand the true interconnectedness of all things, the importance of balance and the importance of renewal and resilience. Connecting to nature helps us to experience a deeper sense of ourselves, the world around us, and each other.”
She added: “Just as nature revives and renews, so too can we. Let us reconnect to nature and celebrate a new dawn within our hearts. It is often from the smallest of seeds that the greatest change can happen, and in this ever-growing complex world, we need to hold on to what connects us all.”
Catherine announced that she had entered remission in January 2025, after revealing in 2024 that post-surgery tests had detected cancer.
