Prince Louis’ touching two-word comment to King Charles leads to heartwarming moment

A touching moment between Prince Louis and his grandfather King Charles III has captured hearts following the royal family’s Easter gathering at Windsor.

As members of the Firm assembled before the Easter Matins service at St George’s Chapel, lip-reading specialist Jeremy Freeman disclosed that young Louis greeted the King with a simple yet sincere “Happy Easter” — a gesture that elicited a warm response.

According to witnesses, the King appeared deeply moved, tenderly patting his grandson on the cheek in an uncommon and affectionate public gesture. The poignant exchange occurred as Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, attended the customary service with their children for the first time since Catherine’s cancer diagnosis, representing a meaningful return for the family.

The Prince of Wales greeted well-wishers with a wave as the family entered the chapel, with Charlotte wearing a tan coat while her mother chose an elegant off-white outfit, complemented by a leafy hat. William and his sons wore matching dark blue suits and ties.

Meanwhile, Camilla stood out in an eye-catching red wool dress and coat, accessorised with a hat and a brooch that formerly belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth II. Over a hundred well-wishers gathered in eager anticipation, some clutching flags and banners, with one young royal enthusiast even dressed as a King’s Guard.

The mood was jubilant, with chants of “God save the King” filling the air as Charles and Camilla made their arrival, reports the Express.

At the close of the service, the Queen was handed a posy of flowers by a young attendee, while members of the public called out warm greetings to the royal family — many having made the journey from across the UK and further afield to be part of the occasion.

The King engaged warmly with the gathered crowd, acknowledging those who had travelled from abroad. “I have very happy memories of Hungary years ago,” he remarked to one well-wisher.

Mr Freeman also disclosed that, as King Charles departed the service, he gazed at the crowds and said: “Oh my goodness gracious me, thank you very much…thank you and to you,” before leaving alongside Queen Camilla.
