It’s been an incredibly busy week for Prince William who saw his son, Prince George, off to Eton College on Tuesday and then flew to Oslo for King Harald’s state funeral on Wednesday.
The royal returned to the UK for his outing in Liverpool to promote suicide prevention, where his wife made a surprise appearance to show her support.
William was set to make a solo appearance at Everton Football Club on Thursday for the poignant launch. However, Catherine unexpectedly joined her husband, marking the first joint royal outing for the couple since the Sussexes return to the UK last month.

Princess Catherine’s stylish arrival
The Princess of Wales looked stylish as ever in Liverpool on Thursday as she supported her husband for the poignant outing.
Catherine looked lovely in a teal suit from Edeline Lee, which she previously wore in Italy.
The ‘Cornflower Blue’ two-piece was made up of high-waisted, flared trousers and a slim-cut jacket with ruching at the back forming a flattering, waist-cinching peplum silhouette.
She paired her look with pointed-toe heels and the Laura Lombardi ‘Portrait’ necklace she wore for Prince George’s first day at Eton College. Her hair was swept to the side and styled in her usual effortless waves.
Princess Catherine and Prince William return to official duties
The Prince and Princess of Wales have returned to official duties after Prince Harry’s return to the UK last month.
Princess Catherine joined her husband on Thursday at Hill Dickinson stadium to show her support for Prince William’s poignant new initiative on World Suicide Prevention Day.
Catherine and William stepped out for the engagement in Liverpool, a day after William attended King Harald’s funeral in Oslo. The Princess of Wales looked lovely in a blue suit jacket and matching trousers with her hair out in a cascade of curls.

Mental health awareness has been an issue close to the Prince and Princess of Wales’ hearts for years, with The Royal Foundation launching the Heads Together campaign in 2016 with the aim to end the stigma surrounding mental health.

Prince William’s powerful plea
Prince William has launched a poignant initiative on World Suicide Prevention Day today.
William’s new campaign, On Your Side, aims to raise awareness and help sport organisations with the approaches needed for suicide prevention. The toolkit has been developed by The Royal Foundation in partnership with the British Standards Institution and Chasing the Stigma.
The royal released a video for the new campaign featuring England football captain Harry Kane and Formula One driver George Russell, who have been enlisted to speak on the issue.
“Through my work on mental health, I have met people whose lives have been changed forever by suicide. But I have also met people whose lives have been saved because someone stepped in to help. Each of their experiences has had a profound impact on me,” William has written in a foreword to the document.
“In moments of need, the right support can make all the difference. We all have the power to help, and that’s why suicide prevention must be an important part of everyday sporting life.” He adds: “I hope that On Your Side encourages everyone in sport, in every discipline and at every level, to make suicide prevention part of your game plan.”
