The Princess of Wales is a major tennis fan, and the royal made her way down to SW19 on Thursday for the fourth day of Wimbledon.
Catherine started her day at the tennis off by meeting people in ‘The Queue’ who have been waiting at the iconic venue since the early hours of the morning. She was also introduced to the volunteer stewards who supervise the winding queue.
A poignant part of her visit saw the royal meet children from Shine Camera Club. The club is a creative photography programme based within the charity, SHINE Merton. It supports children from disadvantaged backgrounds to develop confidence, creativity and self-expression through photography.
Last year, the charity took part in The Championships, Wimbledon learning programme, where students created a portrait series celebrating community trailblazers, which was later exhibited at the Wimbledon Qualifiers. Children attending this year will spend the day taking photos at the tournament, which will be viewed by Catherine.
And, of course, Catherine also settled in for a game, watching the action alongside the chair of the AELTC, Deborah Jevans, and former tennis legend, Tim Henman.

Although the Princess of Wales thankfully means she won’t have to join the large queues, she greeted those who had been waiting for hours to get inside the venue.

The Princess looked gorgeous in her blue ensemble, accessorising with a bold pair of earrings.

Although this royal rule has been relaxed in recent years, it used to be that royals didn’t take selfies. But Catherine was seen beaming as she posed with a royal fan.
Getting stuck in
Some lucky queuers ended up being admitted by the royal, who was seen getting behind the ticket desk and scanning their tickets!

Catherine was joined by Deborah Jevans and Tim Henman as the trio watched Britain’s Arthur Fery take on Finland’s Otto Virtanen in the second round.

Catherine couldn’t keep the smile off of her face as she strolled around Wimbledon!
